South Skye visitors and residents will soon be able to enjoy a new eating and drinking experience in an iconic historic location. The team behind two successful Skye businesses – Deli Gasta and the Isle of Skye Candle Company – are to take over management of the former Armadale Castle Stables Restaurant. The new café, Gasta at Armadale Castle, will open for the new visitor season at Easter.
Skye-based entrepreneur James Robertson, of Deli Gasta and the Skye Candle Company, commented: ‘We are hugely excited to be collaborating on this new venture. At Deli Gasta we have built a reputation for fresh, local food and we look forward to extending this offering to the new venue. Armadale is a stunning location steeped in history, a popular destination for visitors but also at the heart of a local community. We are looking forward to building on this success and welcoming the Castle’s tens of thousands of visitors while branching out in some exciting new directions.’
Sue Geale, Museum Manager at Armadale Castle commented: ‘James’s vision and entrepreneurial flair are the perfect fit for our ambitions as we take Armadale Castle, Gardens & Museum to the next level. The new team are fizzing with ideas and enthusiasm and we are all looking forward to opening for the new season on 26 March.’
