Jacobite Day

Saturday 13 July 2019, 11.30am - 4.00pm

Transport yourself to the days of Bonnie Prince Charlie and discover the stories that inspired the TV series Outlander. Meet costumed re-enactors, follow a Jacobite trail around the Museum, and get up close to Jacobite era weapons and artefacts. Children can enjoy dressing up and craft activities.

Performers from the Renaissance Scots Living History Association return to Armadale Castle after a hugely successful visit last year. Watch thrilling re-enactments of scenes of combat from the Jacobite era and before. There’s also the chance to have a go yourself using realistic practice weapons. Weapons expert Paul Macdonald of the Macdonald Academy of Arms will also be on hand with advice on historic weaponry and some fascinating artefacts to handle.

Admission free with normal entrance ticket.
