Isle of Skye Accommodation at Armadale Castle and Gardens

Our accommodation here on the Isle of Skye offers six self-catering cabins, one heritage apartment and one estate cottage all situated within the wooded policies of Armadale Castle grounds. Our cosy, well-equipped four-star properties draw guests back time and again and are perfect for group bookings. Wake up to witness sunrise over the mountains of Knoydart, and watch local creel boats fishing in the Sound of Sleat. White-tailed eagles glide overhead, while native red deer graze in the fields nearby. You can spend your day wandering in our famous gardens and surrounding woodlands, visit the local grocery shop to pick up fresh supplies, and take an evening stroll to the pub for a supper of incredible food.

With recently refurbished interiors and ideal location near Armadale Pier, our properties are perfect for couples, families and groups. Many of our properties are also dog friendly, and our wider estate is available for extended walks. A wonderful place to restore wellbeing, Armadale welcomes short breaks and longer stays throughout the year. Read more about the properties below.

About the Accommodation

Clanranald, Keppoch, Antrim, Sleat and Glencoe Lodge and the Foresters Cottage are all dog friendly. We do not permit dogs in Glengarry Lodge or the Flora Apartment. Please state when booking if your dog will be joining you (max two dogs per property). We make a small charge of £20 per dog to cover extra housekeeping and we ask that dogs are kept out of bedrooms and off the furniture. There are lots of fabulous dog friendly walks from the doorstep and in the vicinity and spectacular views within a few hundred yards of our dog friendly accommodation.

CLAN DONALD LOG CABINS

The accommodation in our cabins consists of an open-plan living room and dining kitchen, bathroom, double bedroom and twin-bedded room. A cot and highchair can be provided on request.

FORESTERS COTTAGE

Foresters Cottage has two bedrooms (one double, one twin), a large kitchen, dining and sitting room and one bathroom with large walk-in shower. The cottage has a private, self-contained garden and private parking. Well-behaved dogs are very welcome in the cottage – please see Dogs and Pets section above.

FLORA MACDONALD APARTMENT

The Flora Macdonald apartment is named after the famous Jacobite-era heroine who helped to save Bonnie Prince Charlie after the Battle of Culloden and married here at Armadale. The apartment has two bedrooms (one king, one twin), a kitchen, sitting room, bathroom with jetted bath and shower, separate WC and hallway. Outside there is a private rear terrace. Parking available. No dogs or pets are permitted in the apartment.

About CDLT

The Clan Donald Lands Trust (CDLT) is a registered charity. Based at Armadale, we work to protect and promote the Clan Donald, including its traditions, history, and unique assets in our care. We focus on managing our 20,000 acre Sleat estate for sustainable development, aiming to meet the needs of the present while ensuring future prosperity, maintaining thriving local communities, a healthy environment, and a successful local economy.

CDLT’s primary source of income is from our dog friendly self-catering properties. This income supports our charity in employing local people, as well as putting money into the wider supply chain of service providers in the locality including trades, retail, cafés and restaurants. Thank you for supporting our charitable work.

We look forward to welcoming you to Armadale
