Beò Festival week disruptions – Plan your visit

We are delighted to be hosting the first ever Beò Festival in the castle grounds this year. With a fantastic line-up of 14 bands playing over two days, it’s going to be a weekend to remember. Don’t forget, entry is by ticket only during the festival and you’ll need to buy these in advance – buy tickets here.

If you’re planning on visiting Armadale Castle, Gardens & Museum during the festival week there are some temporary changes to be aware of. Here’s a run-down to help you plan your visit:

Tuesday 14 May

  • Castle, Gardens & Museum open as usual. There will be some minor disruptions due to deliveries and set-up
  • Cafe, Gasta at Armadale Castle, open as usual

Wednesday 15 & Thursday 16 May

  • Museum: open as usual
  • Cafe: open as usual
  • Castle & Gardens:  The festival area will be fenced off while we set up the site. Visitors will be asked to follow a designated route in the gardens, which will be accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs. There will be limited visibility of some areas, including the castle front. See map downloadable from this page. To compensate we’ll offer reduced price entry of £5 for everyone on these two days
  • Events & activities:  There will be a guided walk of the gardens as planned on Wednesday 15 May at 2pm, part of the Rhododendron Festival. Our Exhibition Explorers baby & toddler session will run on Thursday morning as usual

Friday 17 & Saturday 18 May

  • Castle, Gardens & Museum closed to visitors
  • Cafe closed

Sunday 19 May

  • Castle, Gardens & Museum closed to visitors
  • Cafe open as usual

Monday 20 May
