Local gardens access
We know that our gardens, woodlands and playpark are greatly valued by our local community. So we’re pleased to announce that we have now extended our on-site team and are able to unlock the gates once more for local access.
From 2 February you are welcome to walk in the gardens and play in the playpark during daylight hours at your own risk. Note the playpark is currently for under 12s only. Please maintain social distancing at all times, and adhere to local travel restrictions. For everyone’s safety please heed any Health & Safety notices at the front gate.
Note that we are undertaking essential maintenance work in the gardens at the moment, including tree surgery, and some areas will be inaccessible. At this time of year there is also a risk of severe weather including snow and ice. We are unable to grit all car park areas and paths, so please take extra care and wear appropriate footwear.
We may close the gardens completely at short notice due to changes in Covid-19 rules or weather conditions.
We welcome your donation towards gardens upkeep (donations box at gate); alternatively, please support us as a Friend of Armadale.
Visitor season re-opening
Armadale Castle, Gardens & Museum of the Isles are currently officially closed for the season. We will open the full site when Covid-19 restrictions allow and when it is safe to do so. We currently anticipate that this will be April at the earliest. Keep checking our social media and website Plan Your Visit page for updates. We very much look forward to welcoming you.
