Armadale Castle, Gardens & Museum is a 5 star visitor attraction which sits at the heart of a 20,000 acre estate in south Skye.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Retail Manager to help create a very special retail experience in an outstanding location. We are looking for a self-motivated and customer focused individual with commercial acumen and at least 2 years’ retail experience.
You will lead a review of both our shops to increase sales whilst reflecting our 5 star visitor experience. You will help to develop and then manage a new online shop. You will source new and interesting products in line with customer trends; lines that celebrate our wonderful gardens and museum collections, re-affirm our Clan Donald roots and promote our local crafts and produce. The income from our shops directly supports the objectives of our charity, Clan Donald Lands Trust (Scottish Registered Charity no. SC007862).
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will manage the retail budget and analyse business trends to maximise performance and drive profitability. You will be responsible for stock buying, management and visual merchandising, and will manage the team of Visitor Assistants that staff the shops during the season.
The post is full time but it may be possible to work a system of annualised hours to match the seasonal nature of our shops.
