Tree planting advice and tour

Thursday 31 October 2019, 11.00am - 1.00pm

Join the Gardens team for an autumnal tree celebration, with hands-on advice followed by a guided walk. You are welcome to attend both events or just one. Events are free with normal entrance.

Tree planting and care: hands-on advice session 11.00 – 12.00

After some tree advice? Come and see tree planting in action, ask questions and have a go. Our Head Gardener will talk through how to select, plant and look after trees in this hands-on session as we plant some new trees in the Armadale Castle Gardens. Bring sturdy footwear if you would like to join in the planting – or just watch if you prefer.

Tree tour, 12.00 – 13.00

Join our Head Gardener Andrew Peters for an informative walk around some of Armadale Castle’s remarkable trees. Find out about the long and illustrious history of trees at Armadale Castle Gardens and get close to some of our oldest and most unusual specimens. Ticket office staff will advise on walk start point.

Please note, most of this tour will be on wheelchair accessible paths, but the path through the arboretum is on a grass surface.

Both events are part of the Scottish Tree Festival, in collaboration with Discover Scottish Gardens.
